Kevin is 4!!!

Kevin Hiner, born October 19th, 2004.
(thanks for the pic idea Heather)

Kevin helped me make the cake and all the kids helped decorate!
A big thank you to everyone for all the cool stuff!!! The clothes are awesome and he wants to wear them all. (As he's finishing going potty "Mommy, I love my Diego underwear.")
The toys are great, so we're going through one at a time, and the rocketship card is being played with as much as anything.
Bryan's happy, because they're ages are the aproppriate ratio again (2, 4 & 6), but he's only got until January before that's ruined again. Just don't trust what he says, because he'll just keep Katie's 6 untill Hunter's birthday, then promote them all. He'll at least get one out of 3 right that way.

Miss Hiner

Katie's teacher was letting me know Katie had extra papers in her bag today, because she had asked for some. She wanted to teach the boys all about Mesopotamia. Her teacher was impressed.

Katie always says she wants to be a teacher when she grows up. She loves to practice on anyone who will let her. I often find papers that are titled Miss Hiner, then list her brothers and stuffed animals as students. When I ask her what grade she wants to teach she says "little kids, but not too little".

I found this hanging in her bedroom last year.

Silly Faces

Aunts are great! They get their niece and nephews the coolest stuff, like these fake pumpkins.

I'm all for the traditional pumpkin carving, and the mess that comes with it, but these fake things are awesome! They are so light, and you can carve, draw, paint or in this case poke and hot glue any face you'd like.

Now that we've got these decorations, it's time to bust out Aragog and get him on the roof.

Happy Halloween!

Primary Program

The children did their program today, and everyone loved it! I was impressed that almost every single child had memorized their line(s), and they did their very best singing.
Unfortunately for me I was up their prompting, and didn't get to just sit back and enjoy. This was also the main reason for Kevin to become increasingly more irreverent as the program went on. I'm not in my most agile state, and he found it fun to play the "lets see what I can get away with game".

Oh well, if you can't have a reverent child, at least have an entertaining one!

My boys are in love!

Dora has stolen the hearts of my dear young boys. She is the only DVD that will never fail when we are on a road trip and they love to go strait to NickJr.com every morning to play games or watch episodes. Oh well, at least she's a good influence. The other day they kept singing "never give up, never give up".

Here's the front view of the haircuts I gave them last night.

Gone Fishing

Bryan is spending four days fishing with his dad, grandpa, and uncles at Lee's Ferry. Lee's Ferry is an historic pioneer river crossing 14 miles below the Glen Canyon Dam (Lake Powell). From the launch ramp, they fish the 14 mile stretch of river up to the base of the dam. The river is shallow, most places less than 15 feet deep, and very cold, 56 degrees year around. The predominant fish in the river is rainbow trout and almost everybody does catch and release. Restrictions on the river do not allow a fish to be kept once it is longer than 12", thus making most fish not keepers. Today the weather was beautiful and clear. The fishing was great and hopefully the rest of the week will follow suit.

Having Fun!

So I've been having lots of fun figuring out some of the cool things I can put on here. Thanks for the help Candice.
I've also been looking back through my 2008 pictures, and there's lots of cute stuff. It's too bad I didn't start this sooner. I will post more to catch up but for now here's a great one of the boys. I sent them out fully dressed and dry, but they found a mud puddle so...

Here we go!

It had to happen sometime. I was destined to join the blogspot world. So here’s our spot.
It may not be the most interesting reading you do, but for those nights when you can’t get to sleep you can come do a little reading to pass the time. Who knows maybe you’ll learn something, like to always put the Tang powder on a higher shelf so your son doesn’t decide to spread it on the floor dying his hands orange in the process.

Well, I suppose that’s all for now. Let’s keep in touch shall we?
